The Science Wonder Garden Party is back for 2025!

Join us at Oxford University Begbroke Science Park and take part in experiments, interactive talks, trails, exploratory games and art and science workshops. Discover more about the research and invention happening at Begbroke Science Park, across Oxford University and throughout Oxfordshire in 2025.
The Walled Garden will be filled with free, fun hands-on activities with popular favourites returning, plus lots of new surprises – suitable for all ages.
FOOD AND DRINK
We have limited free hot dog or burger! from 12:30pm (with vegan option) – served on a first-come first-served basis until we run out. Once they're gone, they're gone – so please feel free to bring additional snacks or a picnic.
TRANSPORT
Free minibuses from Kidlington, Yarnton and Begbroke, timetable to be added below– also first come first served.
The Stagecoach S3 will also make a stop at Begbroke Science Park on 21 June (this is not free, usual prices apply).
ACTIVITIES

- Having your picture drawn by a robot caricaturist
- Hands-on activity from Science Oxford - family STEM learning
- Digging for artifacts with Oxford Archeology - plus find out about discoveries they have found on site
- Nanoscience activities with the Townley lab, based at Begbroke Science Park (the lab's research focuses on the use of nanoparticles in cancer for therapy, imaging or drug delivery).
- Live talks from Oxford Sparks – including Prof Richard Walker discussing the forgotten earthquakes of central Asia, Dr Daniela Nasteska on the colourful world of diabetes research, and Chrishen Gomez on clouded leopard conservation
- Dr Abhirup Banerjee – Royal Society University Research Fellow – and the MultiMeDIA Lab will showcase cutting-edge AI research that brings together cardiac MRI, angiography, and other imaging techniques to build a dynamic 3D digital twin of the heart, offering a glimpse into the future of personalised cardiovascular care.

- Meeting scientists based at Begbroke Science Park including start-up from Begbroke's Agile Lab Repolywise – who transform unrecycled waste plastics into new plastic by breaking them down efficiently into their starting materials with a new 'atomic scissors' technology
- Exploring the Brain's Hidden Symphony: Immerse yourself in the latest neuroscience advances at the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit stand. Discover how our brains control movement, store memories, and what goes wrong in neurological conditions. Get hands-on with fun, interactive displays and live demonstrations - including real brain-machine interfaces! Chat with our friendly scientists and look down a microscope to see neurons up close.
